Section III: Belief in Abundance or Revising Scarcity Beliefs
Revising Your Beliefs of Scarcity into the belief in Abundance is a gradual process. It is the process of going from the head or intellect to really feeling and experiencing a new belief from your heart.
It is the process of becoming closer to your Higher Self. It is closing the gap between the mask you wear and the being who you really are.
The following exercises outline a 4 step process to support you in this revision. A great resource to turn to is Ray Dodd's The Power of Belief. I modeled this process after his.
Step 1: Identify and Take a Look at Existing Belief
Now that you have identified the
old existing belief of scarcity in your life from Section II. It is time to take a closer look.
The old belief keeps you blocked from your own abundance.
Write down that belief and all its versions. (e.g. "there is not enough", "I have to worker harder than the next gal to have enough" and so on)
Take your time here. This is 80-90% of the work! Congrats on getting this far. There's only a little more way to go.
Step 2: Write New Belief in Abundance
Write a
new revised belief that reflects what you do want in terms of abundance. (e.g. "There is enough." "I am enough." "I can have enough without having to work hard.")
Important note: You may have to take baby steps with this revised belief. In other words, it may be too big a stretch for you to state "There is enough." You may have to state "I can imagine that there is enough." You can go gradually here.
Step 3: Notice Evidence for Revised Belief in Abundance
Find evidence around you now and as you go through your day that reflects that
new revised belief.
Even the little stuff, such as, having plenty of scrap paper to write messages down, or seeing the piles of produce in the grocery, eating a meal and feeling full.
Write these down!!!!
Step 4: Be Kind to Yourself in the Process
If you run into some evidence of an old belief, you observe it as your old belief in action and
not your new personal truth.
It's OK.
Don't focus on it or judge it.
Focus on the new desirable belief.
Remember that this is a process. It takes being kind with yourself. It is also important to not have to be right about it.
In other words, when old beliefs come up, you needing to be right will keep them in place. Let go of that need and your have great freedom.
