Section II- Scarcity Mentality or Holding Onto Negative Emotions as an Abundance Blocker
Guilt, fear, hate, jealousy, regret, anger.
These and other emotions like them are considered "negative" because they hold us away from who we really are. They don't feel good. So, when you are not feeling good, your natural state of feeling, you know something is blocking you from your Divinity and Abundance. When we are feeling these emotions, we are in a Scarcity Mentality.
Thing is, most of us don't know when we feel these feelings. We may be holding onto the negative feelings because we have accepted that the idea that we can do nothing about it. We start to believe that feeling "so-so", or "getting by" is our natural state. Some of us even have the belief that we don't feel anything. We feel numb.
The following exercises are designed to help you become more aware of your feelings. Once you are aware of something, you can make a choice about what to be next.
Exercise 1:
What negative emotions are you holding onto? If this question stymies you, experiment with this exercise. Sit in a quiet place and close your eyes. Take some deep breaths in and out. Just observe what thoughts and feelings are hanging out with you. Don't search for them or try to negate them. Just observe and let the feelings pass through.
Exercise 2:
As your day continues, see if you can stop and just observe your feelings. This can be done all through the day: in line at the check-out counter, in the car, sitting on your train, listening to music, eating your breakfast.
What are your feeling right now? Take time when you have a chance to jot down the feelings into your journal.
